About Us
Christopher Kane - I am a Community-Based Counselling Psychologist whose training and interests lie in understanding individuals and the contexts which shape them. I believe that through understanding our own thoughts and reactions, and learning to reflect on the world around us, we become more able to manage the challenges we experience in life. I work with adults and adolescents, and I am keenly interested in areas relating to anxiety, stress, grief, loss, and bereavement. I also assist people who are interested in personal development, self-growth, and discovery. I am comfortable working with both clearly defined and open-ended therapy goals.
My role as a therapist is to work with my clients to uncover their strengths, values, and interests, and to help them identify the origins of challenges they may face. I also assist in developing a fuller understanding of different experiences. This understanding allows us to address challenges in ways which are healthy and rewarding for the individual.
I provide a welcoming, accepting, and private space for people to explore and heal, whether the focus is on things they find challenging or things which they wish to understand better. I believe that the key to overcoming many challenges is curiosity about ourselves and the world around us.
