About Us
Dr Viola Morolo is committed to establishing a premier Urological Cancer and Incontinence centre of excellence at Cure Day Hospital Midstream. Dr Morolo currently practices at Urology Hospital, Midstream Cure Day Hospital and Jakaranda Hospital. As a specialist Urologist and a fellow of the College of Urologists of South Africa, Dr Morolo is deeply passionate about synergizing public and private health resources for training and service delivery to provide patients with worldclass treatment and has impressive educational background, having completed her FC Urol (SA) and MMed (Urol) at the University of Pretoria. Notably, she is the first black female Urologist to graduate from this esteemed institution.
Dr Morolo’s medical journey began with an undergraduate degree in medicine and surgery at MEDUNSA, where she initially practised in the field of HIV/AIDS. Her experiences in HIV/AIDS informed her holistic approach to patient care, but it was her subsequent work in Occupational Health, where she earned a Diploma in Occupational Health and Medicine from the University of Pretoria, that deepened her interest in Urology. This shift was driven by her exposure to patients with urological conditions, especially those presenting symptoms related to potential urological cancers.
As the Founder and Chief Director of African Synergy Health (ASH), a not-for-profit organisation, she is committed to eliminating elective surgical waiting lists in public hospitals by organising surgical marathons, notably the ASH Mandela Week Surgical Marathon. This initiative honours Mandela Day, an annual celebration of Nelson Mandela’s life and a global call to action for people to recognise their individual power to make a difference and change the world around them. Citizens are encouraged to spend 67 minutes of their time in service to others in need. These 67 minutes commemorate the 67 years Mandela spent advocating for justice, equality, and human rights for all. Dr Morolo remains dedicated to utilizing her diverse skills in Urology, Occupational Health, and HIV/AIDS to enhance community health.

- Blood in urine (Haematuria)
- Lower urinary tract symptoms (e.g., frequent urination, urgency, nocturia)
- Family history of cancers (e.g., prostate, breast cancer)
- Men aged 40 years and older seeking prostate cancer screening
- Treatment for Urological Cancers: For those diagnosed with urological cancers, a range of treatment options is available, including:
- Minimally invasive surgeries, such as laparoscopic procedures
- Chemotherapy
- Radiation therapy
- Management of Incontinence: Dr Morolo provides care for individuals experiencing incontinence, which includes:
- Bedwetting
- Urine leaks triggered by pressure (coughing, laughing, exercising)
- Urgency in urination accompanied by leakage
- Continuous urine leakage
